i heart trees

yesterday on our walk, i went exploring in a neighbor's yard. i like to go up to every house we pass. i normally get up two stairs before mommy swoops me back to sidewalk. she says we aren't visiting today, but having a walk. well, in this neighbor's yard, there was a wee tree. i walked over to it and touched it. mommy i asked if i liked the tree, and i nodded yes. she asked if i wanted to give it a hug. i nodded again and gave that tree a hug. mommy said i was a treehugger. i htought that was funny. so guess what i did to every tree on the way home? i earned my new name, of course!

mommy likes it best when i stay on the sidewalk, but fall is for walking in the grasses between the sidewalk and the street, where all the crunchy brown leaves fall. the red ones are pretty too. i chose one for mommy to bring home. i also like to hunt for pinecones and sticks. when i find a new one, i just toss the old one away. the squirrels are funny to watch. they run and play and throw acorns at us from the trees. silly. silly.

i have three new words and a phrase. i like to say, *wheel* *yes* (which sounds more like yessssh) and *please.* i also like to say, *honey, i know.* sometimes i just call mommy and daddy *honey* now. when i pass someone on the street, i say, *HII-iiiiiiiiii,* very sing-songy like. i like this time of year. i might be going camping in a few weeks and everything!
