ohohohohohoh!!!! i went to the ZOO last week! i got my own koala bear to bring home. mommy asked me what his name was, and i told her, "koala bear." she said that is what kind of animal he is, but what will i call him, for a name?
"balum," said i.
she said, "malcolm?"
i said, "NO, mommy! BALUM!"
he is cuddly. i like to lay my head on him to have a nap. i also like to put my nose on his. the real-not-stuffed ones were sleeping while we were there, but i liked them.
i also got to ride on a carousel!
i had to switch to 4 different animals. i wanted to ride them all! i was a little scared at first, but by the end, i wanted to ride again! and again!
my favorite animals of the day were sea lions, elephant, rhinocerous, hippohoptohumnus, baboon (i saw a baby baboon nursing, just like me!), chimpanzees and giraffe. the chimpanzee grandpa came up to mommy and touched her fingers through the glass. he looked at her for a long time. she talked to him. then he looked at me for a long time. i liked him a lot. the others were fun too.
i fed the deer and goats. this guy's lips tickled my hands!
i also rode a camel with daddy! mommy felt sad inside about that. she doesn't think the camels like that very much. the camera ate those pictures, too.
then we took the tram back. i was Very Tired and mommy's back was burned. she remembered my sunscreen, but forgot hers.
later, mommy had to work - so i went to see fireworks with daddy. it was a Very Busy Day!
also last week, grandma and grandpa came to see me!
grandpa and daddy went to see lyle lovett and kd lang. i like the boat song that lyle sings. we also ate mexican food. i fed grandpa so many chips, they were spilling out of his mouth! i laughed very hard and said, " you eat too many chips!"
on saturday, me and mommy watched the live earth concert. mommy said lots of musicians were gathering in places all around the world to play music to raise awareness about global climate change, kind of like the rally we went to here in april. she said we would also learn ways to do our part to help. i told mommy, "i want to do MY part and make a concert!" i asked her to "get my microphone, please!" and told her "i need my guitar."
then, i rocked the house! i played louder and louder and finally said, "this one goes to eleven?" mommy and daddy laughed very hard about that. someday, mommy says i can watch spinal tap.
after, we looked at all of the things we do in the house to leave less of a footprint. i learned a lot that day.
i got tired though. so i got my bear and baby and nestled into daddy's reading chair. mommy got us a blanket, so we would feel cozy.
